The audio driver for DELL Inspiron E1505 is really weired. I finally figured out how to let audio work under Windows XP.
First don't try to install any driver for "PCI device"(this device includes two devices:audio and modem), isntall Intel Chipset driver(R114079.exe, find it at dell.com) first, this will solve the "SM Bus Controller" problem. Then download Sigmatel Audio driver(R171789.exe), from dell.com too, and let it installed automatically. After audio driver is installed successfully and a modem device will pop up, use modem driver downloaded from dell.com to active this device. Done!
